The Codex daStudiVZinci

StudiVZ wants to discuss his code of conduct with his users. In my eyes a good strategy, but it depends whether the codex is put in practice and whether StudiVZ has the possiblity to ensure that the Codex ‘is lived’ inside the company. If they need somebody who is proud and adept in Philosophy and Economics, then they might take a look here.

News and Events from G8-Germany.info

www.g8-germany.info updated its website with infos on all the activities surrounding the G8 summit, Civil Society activities both running up to and during the G8. They also offer a tool for announcing events and activities in your own countries.

The G8-Germany team is planning at least four G8-related events at the World Social Forum in Nairobi, which will take place from January 20-25. For most of these events, there are no clear dates yet:

  1. January 21st: High-level panel discussion “What do the Poorest (P8) have to say to G8?” - with representatives from Africa (Bishop Dandala, Agnes Aboum), India (Vandana Shiva) and Germany (German Development Minister, Association of German Development NGOs - VENRO).
  2. January 22nd or 23rd: Panel discussion: “Legitimacy of G8: Should we try to influence their agenda or should they be substituted by other institutions?” - with representatives of GCAP, African and German Civil Society and activists.
  3. January 22nd or 23rd: Planning workshop: “The G8 2007 Alternative Summit” - How do we increase International participation?
  4. January24th: Workshop and info-event: “How is Civil Society preparing for G8 2007 in Germany?” - How do we increase International participation? With presentations from all parts of German Civil Society and International Networks.

It is clear by now, that the Sherpa-Stakeholder meeting in Bonn will be in the afternoon of April 26, 2007. For the day before that, there are plans for an international Civil Society Forum on G8.

LinkedIn is begging for customers

Today I received the following email:Sehr geehrte(r) Herr/Frau Wenzlaff,

Apparently they don’t know my gender, so they write ‘Dear Sir or Madam Wenzlaff’

Wow, three million users. More than StudiVZ or OpenBC/Xing?: ‘With more than 3 million European members, LinkedIn is leading the market in Europe. This week our entry into the German/Austrian market starts. Therefore we make you a special offer:’

Werben Sie ein einziges neues deutsches oder österreichisches Mitglied, so erhalten Sie wie auch das neugeworbene Mitglied Premiumdienste im Wert von ca. 160 Euro gratis.

‘Invite one new german or Austrian member, and you and the new member receive the Premium Service worth 160 Euro.’ Oh, one profile is worth 160 Euros? Interesting calculation!

[…]

Mit freundlichen Grüßen,

Konstantin Guericke
LinkedIn Mitgründer

Thanks Konstantin, but I think you are too late. You have to buy OpenBC/Xing, because you definitely slept while all the interesting things happened in Germany.
